DUCKS CROSSING – DRIVE CAREFULLY

The success of the Waterford Rise wetlands has seen a jump in numbers of birdlife including the ubiquitous Mallards and Black Ducks that can be seen crossing the roads in the lead up to Christmas.

To protect our lovely ducks and ducklings “Ducks Crossing” signs have been erected at the bottom of Highvale Rise and outside the sales office.

These feathered friends are handy at keeping our waterways clean by feeding on seeds of aquatic plants as well as small crustaceans, molluscs and aquatic insects. 

Occasionally, food is sought on land in damp grassy areas so watch the grassy verges for ducks deciding to cross the road.

Please drive carefully during this busy period to ensure out ducks are safe.
