First Home buyers breaking rental cycle at Waterford Rise

March 16, 2020

Waterford Rise has proved very popular with First Home Buyers who are keen to set up their first home in an affordable and spacious estate.
Thanks to Waterford Rise, hundreds of first home buyers are building, or have built, their first home in central Warragul.
Almost 20% of FHB have been living at home with their parents and 25% have escaped the rental cycle.
Many of these buyers have been priced out of metro Melbourne with 35% of buyers from Warragul and Drouin but 63% came from established suburbs in Melbourne’s SE including Pakenham, Berwick, Narre Warren, Clyde north, Officer and the Cranbourne region.
They came to Waterford Rise after doing plenty of homework, inspecting on average four competing estates in metro Melbourne and in the Warragul region.
The key reasons people buy at Waterford Rise are: Affordability (24%), Location (22%) close to the freeway and 5 minutes drive from central Warragul and Lot Size (19%).
After they decided to buy, our residents opted for an average house size of 21-25 squares on a on block between 525 sqm & 575 sqm – costing between $180,000-$200,000.
It is this low price of land, and the established surrounds of Waterford Rise, that was the key reason for selecting their new home at Waterford Rise.
The most popular home builder was Simonds (43%) followed by Fairhaven (19%)
