The Waterford Rise housing estate in Warragul has been shortlisted for two major awards by the UDIA – best Masterplanned Development and best Residential Development 250⁺ Lots.

Projects entered in the Masterplanned Development category must have a coherent design, with a relevant range of facilities within the development and must be large enough to generate a sense of community.

The 1,250 lot Waterford Rise on the urban fringe of Warragul offers all that and more, with metropolitan quality features and facilities including six parks offering more than 25 hectares of open space.

Waterford Rise Estate Manager Glenn Sanford said the estate was designed more than a decade ago to provide an integrated residential environment that would create a sense of community and appeal to a range of homebuyers proud to call it home.

He said Waterford Rise had been under construction for 8 years and has been Warragul’s leading estate over the journey, with 965 lots sold to date, 734 houses constructed and being home to around 1,850 residents.

Sales are up 25% in the 12 months to October 2020 vs 2019 and for the first time in several years each Stage release is selling out within weeks of release.

Sixty percent of buyers come from metro Melbourne’s SE suburbs such as Officer, Clyde North, Narre Warren and Pakenham but this is expected to rise in the next 12-18 months as the corona virus continues to drive higher levels of sale.

Around 50% of the residents in Waterford Rise are families with 30% couple and 20% singles with 60% of buyers 25-50.
