Waterford Rise public transport – bus and train (walk & cycle)

July 10, 2020

One of the great benefits of living in Waterford Rise is its access to local public transport – and it highlights the benefits of living in a compact regional centre such as Warragul.

Bus Route 85 takes the 10km trip from Drouin train station to Warragul train station and stops at the entrance to the estate along the route.

The bus runs every hour into central Warragul and the Warragul station before turning around and coming back again.

If you want to travel to Drouin from Waterford Rise the bus trip takes 6 minutes to get to the heart of the village and a few more minutes to the Drouin train station.

The trip from Waterford Rise to the Warragul shopping centre in Mason St takes 7 mins  and a further 6 minutes to the station.

The $530 million upgrade  of the rail service between Warragul and the Melbourne CBD has trains travelling every 40 minutes.

The train to Flinders St station takes around 1:35 minutes via the Dandenong Line providing a wide range of stops into the city for workers, shoppers and students.

There are 17 VLocity trains on week days plus 3 evening coach services.

To travel further into Gippsland, the train passes through Yarragon, Trafalgar, Moe and Morwell on the way to Traralgon around 40 minutes away.

For more specific trips the Warragul taxi service offers regular taxis as well as Maxi Taxi/Dual Wheelchair mini-bus to service small passenger groups and local people with disabilities.

And if it’s a sunny day you can always walk or cycle the 2.5kms into Warragul from Waterford Rise along the walking path that runs along Princes Way.
