Waterford Rise reveals Marrabel Park & playground plans

Waterford Rise's newest public open space – Marrabel Park – has been revealed today for the first time!

The exciting new park is located around the top of the estate where Willandra Circuit and Skyline Drive meet with Stoke Street.

The playground will feature the latest facilities to keep kids entertained for hours and will include a range of climbing and clambering nets, frog rocker and platforms as well as a modern take on the traditional swings and slides.

The park has been designed to cater for everybody from infants and parents to pre-school and primary school children.

Marrabel Park is due to be completed before the end of 2020 and in time for the first residents in Stages 60 and 61 to start building their new homes.  Overall, we have 25 hectares of pubic open space at Waterford Rise that is spread through the estate. This great amenity is only a short walk from any of the 700 + homes that have been built to date.

Marrabel Park is the fifth major open public space at Waterford Rise that includes the expansive central Kestle Park located in the Waterford Rise valley offering BBQs, climbing equipment and a half basketball court.

We also have the spectacular Penaluna Park that has recreated a native wetland complete with towering original gums that attracts a large amount of native flora and fauna.

Harkness Park extends along the Two Towns Trail and saw the restoration of the native waterway from invasive willows into a beautiful natural stream featuring new swampy and riparian plantings.

The Harkness Park water flows into the spectacular Strachan Park area with its interconnected waterways, creek crossings and the Western Park Oval.

The final piece of public open space will be Hamilton Park in the north-east of the Estate that is due to commence construction shortly, along the banks of the tributary of Hazel Creek  that  flows through the southern Strachan Park.
